Classrooms: one designed for aerobics and dance classes, and one for general purpose and cooking programs.
Gymnasium: for large-scale recreation programs such as basketball, gymnastics, volleyball and special events.
Batting Cage: a 54-foot enclosed batting cage with pitching machine will be installed in the gymnasium.
Soccer Field: regulation size, lighted field available for soccer and other uses
Baseball Field: regulation size for use by Little League and Westmoreland County Public Schools
Auditorium: Small auditorium, kitchen, meeting room and patio are available for rental. Contact the Parks and Recreation Department for more information.
Public Parks
Hurt Field at Legion Park
Route 3 west of Montross
Four-acre public park adjacent to Chandlers Mill Pond offering both active and passive recreational opportunities for county residents. Its facilities include a lighted baseball field with bleachers and bullpens, a small playground and picnic area, 3 sets of horseshoe pits, a public boat landing and a concession building.
Oak Grove Park
Route 205 between Oak Grove and Colonial Beach
Eight-acre Public Park featuring a sports field with bleachers. Playground and picnic area are scheduled for completion in 2001.
Currioman Landing Public Boat Landing
Off Route 622
Owned and operated by Westmoreland County, this public boat ramp and pier near the Potomac River offers water access to all the county's citizens.
Other Facilities
Cople Elementary School, Montross Middle School, Washington District
Elementary School, Colonial Beach Elementary School and the Montross
American Legion Building across from Hurt Field are also utilized for many
of recreation activities.
