Westmoreland County is seeking a qualified individual to serve as County Planning Director. The successful applicant must possess skills in developing short-term and long-term planning programs. The position requires extensive experience in interpreting and applying zoning regulations, ordinances and plans. This position requires intensive interaction with the public. The Planning Director must have excellent public speaking and writing abilities. A Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, urban planning, environmental planning, or closely related field and 6 years experience at the local government level is required. A Master’s Degree in public administration, urban planning, environmental planning, or closely related field is desirable.
