The Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office protects you and your property by enforcing the law, dispatching emergency services, serving legal process and providing courtroom security. It conducts criminal investigations, assists the Virginia State Police in traffic matters and has K-9 capabilities.

The Sheriff's Office also helps organize Neighborhood Watch programs, offers Drug Abuse Resistance and Education (D.A.R.E.) to fifth-grade classes and is available to address community groups about law enforcement and public safety.

  • Have information about a crime committed in Westmoreland County. Or fill out a confidential Crime Information Report to help us identify and apprehend suspects and recover stolen property.
  • Have a complaint about the Sheriff's Office. Or write the Sheriff's Office or fill out a Complaint Form within 30 days of the incident.
