Thanks to a partnership with the Westmoreland Family YMCA, the County provides a wide range of recreational programs for every segment of our population. Toddlers. Seniors. Teens. Singles. Families. And you! Trained and certified staff provide licensed childcare, conduct health and wellness programs, coordinate family activities, and coach individual and team sports. School-age day care services are located at the County’s public schools. Additional facilities include:

• Full gymnasium for large-scale activities like basketball, gymnastics, volleyball and special events
• Regulation-size baseball field where the Little League and Westmoreland County Public Schools play
• Lighted, regulation-size soccer field
• Small auditorium, kitchen, meeting room and patio
• Two multipurpose rooms
• Conference room

Public Parks
Hurt Field at Legion Park
Route 3, west of Montross
Four-acre public park on scenic Chandlers Mill Pond. Lighted baseball field with bleachers and bullpens, and picnic area, 3 sets of horseshoe pits, public boat landing and concession building.

Hamblin Field
Route 205 between Oak Grove and Colonial Beach
Eight-acre public park with sports field and bleachers.

Currioman Public Boat Landing
Off Route 622
Owned and operated by Westmoreland County. Public boat ramp and pier near the Potomac River offers water access to all county citizens.
